A Delightful Little Cabin

A Delightful Little Cabin, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

We went camping in our travel trailer a couple of weeks ago, and the park we were staying in has a bunch of rustic rental cabins. This is at the Wilderness near Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Looks like a nice peaceful place to stay.

Scotty’s Staircase

Scotty’s Staircase, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

This spiral staircase is located inside Scotty’s Castle, a popular destination inside Death Valley National Park. I used my Nikon 10.5 mm fisheye while lying on the floor to get the shot. Good thing this was the end of the tour.

Going Mobile

Going Mobile, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

Just last fall, we traded up to this new trailer. We weren’t able to use it before winter, so it’s all ready to go. I’ve never gotten what I consider a good picture of the interior until today with the arrival of a new Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye.

BzzzZZZzzz…..

BzzzZZZzzz….., originally uploaded by rreedpc.

I was really planning on shooting macro images of flowers today. As I was shooting this dandelion, this giant bee flew into the picture. Ok, it wasn’t giant, but it looked giant in my viewfinder, and startled me anyway. This is a pseudo HDR (single exposure) processed in Photomatix and Photoshop CS4.

Is This Thing On? (self portrait)

Is This Thing On? (self portrait), originally uploaded by rreedpc.

I’ve wanted to do a self portrait for some time, but never had any ideas that really struck me. I think this turned out pretty good.

Front Porch Snow

Front Porch Snow, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

This past Saturday we had what I hope is our last snow of the winter season. We had over six inches that night, and the wind created a small drift on the corner of our new porch. As the snow began to melt, it left behind a large puddle. I liked the way the light reflected in that puddle.

Here Comes The Storm

Here Comes The Storm, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

We had our first storm of the 2010 spring season tonight in Pierce City. There were tornado warnings a couple of counties over, but nothing too bad. You can see the contraption on our side yard. That’s a lift that is being used to finish the siding on our house.

Gears

Gears, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

This is a photo of some old decaying machinery at the Gold King Mine and ghost town just outside Jerome, AZ. Interestingly, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback that people think the image is done well, but that they don’t care for this type of HDR photography. I like this image quite a bit. The feedback was kind of surprising.

This is the house of a friend of mine just down the street. It was all decorated for Halloween.

Bridge – Jolly Mill Park

Bridge – Jolly Mill Park, originally uploaded by rreedpc.

This is an old bridge for the road just south of Jolly Mill Park in Southwest Missouri. A new bridge and roadway has replaced this one, so it has been converted into a picnic area.

Three exposure HDR processed in Photoshop and Photomatix.
